The Earth Center Retreat sits on 8 acres of land surrounded by an additional 40 acres of privately owned land in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.
The Retreat is located in Swannanoa, just outside of Asheville. The main focal point is an acoustical 36 X 24 foot elliptical dome, which is 18 feet high in the center. The Swannanoa Peace Chamber is the 18th chamber and started construction in 1990. There are over 60 chambers scattered around the world. The Chamber vision is one of Pueblo Ute Shaman named Joseph Rael. The United Nation supports this project due to its unilateral contribution towards peace on the planet.
The Chamber is an ecumenical building used for prayer, songs, music, and chants for World Peace. The
Dalai Lama and his Tibetan Monks have visited, in full regalia, playing their horns and symbols along with chants. Hindu Swami, Yug Purish
Parmanand has given discourse to many students there. Musicians such as Carlos Nakai and Aborigines
Didgeridoo
players have also contributed to the beautiful music, which has come from its walls. Many people now use sound and healing vibration to heal both the physical body and that of the planet. The Chamber lends itself towards this goal.
In addition to the Peace Chamber the Retreat also believes that most wars and conflicts in the world are based on the non-recognition and misunderstandings between the different religious faiths. “God’s Valley” will be located at the retreat. The proposal is to have small temples, chapels, and synagogues to honor all the major faiths. The purpose is to recognize that all faiths are worshiping and honoring the same God.
The Earth Center found its basis in Native American culture. Many leading Native American Holy Men and Woman as well as teachers have visited the land. Located on the grounds in Ceremony Valley are dance arbors and a sweat lodge. There will be Meditation Pods to accommodate private sessions of healing and counseling.
The proposed Long House and Conference Center will have a large meeting room with adjacent kitchen. The lower level will have two large dormitory rooms, which will sleep 8 people each and bath facilities.
In addition to the dormitory, there will also be a campground with approximately 8 campsites and 4 lodging cabins. The cabins will each sleep up to four people. The campground facilities will share a common bathhouse.
Located in the campground is a Medicine Wheel, which was dedicated by Native American teacher, Sun Bear, in 1989.

manifest. See it in completion.
