Earth Center Retreat Plan by Phases |
| The Chamber: Phase 1 |
|
|
The Peace Chamber broke ground in
November of 1990. The first
funds came through donations and general budget of the Earth Center.
People from other chambers and local people came to help.
Joseph Rael dug the footings and the center alter.
Interesting information about Joseph on the placement of the
chamber can be read under “Dowsing
the Chamber”. |
|
During the first phase of
building, Joseph stood on the grounds and said that he envisioned that
one day Thousands of people would come and sit on the hill above the
chamber to hear the beautiful and healing sounds coming from trained
chanters singing inside the chamber.
Because of this vision, we will have Listening Hill above the
Chamber. There will be an opening on top
of the Chamber, a porthole, for people to enter the Chamber and descend
down the 18-foot ladder into the Chamber.
They will do this in ceremony while chanting is being sung.
They will receive their blessings as they pass through the
Chamber and out the front entrance. The Dome Construction went on
the foundation in
1992. It is a Monolithic
Dome. A second smaller dome
will be built on the backside. This
dome will be a sauna room where trained chanters will cleanse or purify themselves in steam before ceremonial entering the chamber to chant.
The dome will take on the energy of the head of the turtle.
Turtle Island is what Native Americans call the Americas. The main dome still needs Radiant Floor Heat installed. It will also have a tile floor, which will include a elliptical mural of the world designating the placement of other chambers around the earth. There will also be built in seating around the outer wall. When all is completed the Chamber will have a stone-facing put on its exterior walls. |
|
| The Dance Grounds: Phase 2 | |
![]() |
The first Dance Grounds became
operational in 1989. Joseph
Rael began holding annual Drum Dances there.
The Drum Dance is a personal vision of Josephs and is not a
traditional native dance. Dances
have been held there now for past 14 years.
Dancers have come from all over the world to do this Dance for
personal and planetary healing. |
|
|
The second dance ground is now being constructed in Ceremony Valley. It is a round covered arbor with a center “Tree of Life”. The main dance to take place in this arbor is an annual “Sun-Moon Dance. This dance also is a vision of Joseph Rael and not a traditional Native dance. We find that today the dominant culture is hungry for ceremony in their life. It becomes a life transitional event and can be accomplished through ceremonies like this without dishonoring the traditional ceremonies of our native people. This arbor can be used for many new dances that are coming through visions. |

Conference Hall : Phase 3 |
|
![]() |
The Conference Hall and Dormitory
building will sit above the hill by the Chamber.
It will be a 50 X 30 foot two story building.
The upstairs will have a large meeting room with Fireplace.
The floors will be wood, great for dance, meditation.
There will be a kitchen facility adjacent to this room.
An outside deck will wrap the building. |
| Downstairs will have two large dormitory rooms each sleeping up to 8 people. There will also be two large restrooms rooms with showers. The restrooms will also functions as restroom facilities for the chamber visitors. | |
|
The Campground: Phase 4 |
|
![]() |
The Campground sits on a gentle rolling hill below the first Dance field and Arbor. It will have 8 to 10 campsites. The second phase of the campground is to construct a bathhouse. The final phase of the campground will have 4 log cabin guesthouses, each sleeping up to four people. |
![]() |
Located in the campground area is a Medicine Wheel constructed and blessed by Sun Bear, a Native American teacher, in 1989. |
|
God’s Valley: Phase 5 |
|
![]() |
In recognizing the need for corporation and understanding between the different religious faiths of the world, God’s Valley will have small chapels, temples, synagogues, and kivas to honor each of major faiths of the planet. |
| It is our goal to have each religion participate in the design, construction, and upkeep of their representative building in the valley. The valley could be a major study point of Universities, Religious Groups, and private individuals in their need to understand that there is only One God with many manners to honor and worship that which created us. | |
| Meditation Pods: Phase 6 |
|
![]() |
When having large groups of people together doing spiritual work, there is always a need for private places to offer counseling, bodywork, and healing. There is also a need to have a place to get away for individual meditation. There will be 4 Pods constructed above Ceremony Valley, which will accommodate these activities. |
| Both funding and
energy is needed to accomplish all these phases. Please contact
the Earth Center if you have interest or need more information. Contact
